Summary

The YES member Skellefteå kommun, Department of leisure and recreation, coordinated from 2008-2010 a project funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme, Leonardo da Vinci.

Among other partners the Children’s Society and the YES Forum itself were involved in this project, called Yo-Train. Yo-Train is based on the results of a previous project called Yo-Pro, youth work in progress, where training material for youth workers were developed.

The purpose of Yo-Train was to design a consistent training concept linked to a method of recognising the non-formal learning occurring.

The beneficiaries of the project were professional youth workers both in the sense that further training and skill enhancement programmes were developed and improved and in the sense that the youth worker profession was better defined in relation to the demands in the society.
