European Election Results 2019

Did you vote in the EU elections? We hope you did and used your voice to strengthen the topics you are passionate about on a European level. Voter turnout overall was higher than in the years before - meaning more EU citizen's voices were heard! That's great news. The surge of right-wing parties on the other hand is a reason for concern and we should be vigilant to what this tells us about frustration, inequalities and fear in the societies we live in.

The challenges we face as societies directly influence young people across Europe. Find out how young people voted in a great overview Oops, an error occurred! Code: 202411070421043d48ed8a. For overall election results, check here.

Many ideas on Gender in Youth Work at 2nd TPM in Aegina

Project partners in the "Towards more Gender-Sensitivity in Youth Work" project came together from 24-25 April in Aegina, Greece to discuss their common ground of working on the topic of gender with young people, and to share ideas for gender-sensitive youth work which will be presented at the project's first training in Munich, Germany in June 2019 (see here for further details!). Read on in our website article.

PROMISE publications illustrate research

"What's Stopping Us?" is the title of the PROMISE research project's newest reflective series. They combine thoughts from the young participants and research results in an engaging format. Each publication ends with five recommendations for change. The topics covered are Engagement, Systems, Labels and Inequality. You can download each publication by clicking on the name.

E-Learning modules for family members of persons with intellectual disability

The IB Südwest, a YES Forum member, is partner in the European project ELPIDA (E-learning platform for intellectual disability awareness). Aim is to provide family members of persons with intellectual disability with the necessary skills and knowledge in order for them to feel more confident to provide support and empowerment to children of all ages. Six interactive educational modules have been developped in cooperation with affected families. The key areas are Human Rights, Communication, Stress Management, Transition to Adulthood, Sexual Health and Ageing. The training material is available for free in six languages (Danish, English, German, Greek, Norwegian and Portuguese). Everyone can participate. Download the educational materials here.
