YES Forum - Youth and European Social Work
YES Forum News December 2019 - Season's Greetings!

Dear ###USER_first_name### ###USER_last_name###,

Despite challenging times for the European Union as a whole and the youth field in particular, YES Forum has had a lot to celebrate this year.

Many new projects involving the YES Forum have started on a very positive note. Led by the YES Forum Secretariat, the “YES to Volunteering!” is the first large-scale project involving the network to provide adapted volunteering opportunities to youngsters who would otherwise face exclusion from such mobility schemes. On New Year’s Eve, we will also celebrate the official – and very successful – end of our YourEP Project!

Furthermore, presented during a European Policy Network involving representatives from the EU institutions in November in Brussels, 2018 was also marked by crucial progress in the H2020 youth research project PROMISE, which has published its ethnographic case studies exploring young people’s role in shaping society by focusing on the ways they engage with social, environmental and political issues, and how these create opportunities for positive social change across Europe.

With the support of the YES Forum Secretariat, members themselves can also rejoice about their success, like BAG EJSA who started its “Gender-Sensitivity in Youth Work” project, and Stiftung St. Johannis Bernburg its “Kinderstadt Goes Europe” project.

Meanwhile, YES Forum statutory events – our Annual Event & General Assembly in June in Athens, Project Planning Meeting in October in Groningen, and Policy Event in November in Brussels – have also involved more and more YES Forum members!

And new steps have been taken on the path towards more institutional recognition for the network: the YES Forum was in particular directly contacted by the European Parliament to be a privileged partner in its “This Time I’m Voting” Campaign preparing for the 2019 EU Elections.

For your contribution and support in all these achievements, we would like to conclude this year with a warm and sincere THANK YOU! We will keep doing our best to support the network and satisfy all YES Forum members and, in the end, all the young people our common efforts reach every day.

And of course, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and, in advance, Happy New Year!

The YES Forum Secreteriat
