PROMISE | Final Conference marks colourful project end

Dear ###USER_first_name### ###USER_last_name###,

Three years of intensive work with and about young people in the PROMISE (Promoting Youth Involvement and Social Engagement) youth research project came to an end at the Final Conference held at the University of Manchester from 8-9th April 2019.

PROMISE researchers, policy makers, practitioners and of course young people from all around Europe came together to present and discuss the findings of this EU-funded Horizon 2020 research project under the title "Young People and Social Change: Action, Reaction and Inaction”. A full and ambitious programme of activities took place including discussions, creative performances and exhibitions. Here some of the highlights:

... keynote speeches were held by special guests Andy Burnham (Mayor of Greater Manchester) and Kerstin Wilde (European Commission)

... the young people presented their issues regarding youth engagement in workshops (e.g. spoken word poetry for social change by Thalaya Darr), presentations (e.g. Jorge Ramírez Escude and Ilham Arbine Arbai, Casal dels Infants del Raval, presented their film on the experiences of being young in El Raval) and artistic performances (e.g. Hip-Hop Performance by Kaur Kippel from Estonia, pictured above)

... a thought-provoking panel discussion on key findings and implication for practice and policy brought together discussants from a variety of different backgrounds covering policy (such as Denise Chircop, Policy Analyst, European Parliamentary Research Services) and practice (such as Jade Bennett, youth worker at The Inclusion Network and Becky Bainbridge, RECLAIM).

Last but not least, we would like to extend a big THANK YOU all guests, partners and young people involved for their contributions to the realisation of this project and their efforts in shaping the Final Conference. Without you, PROMISE would not have been possible!

Many kind regards from Stuttgart,
