The partners involved in YES Forum's new VOICE project (PhotoVoice - Participation & Empowerment in Youth Work) held on the 29th and 30th of June 2021 their first Transnational Project Meeting.
The VOICE project focuses on using the innovative and creative approach of Photovoice to empower youth workers, future youth workers and young people around Europe by bringing together future and current youth workers, young people and creative organisations (eg. photographers and graphic designers). The partnership especially involves an innovative mix of Youth & Social organisations, who will bring their expertise in empowering marginalized groups into the project, and Creative organisations, who will contribute with their expertise in the creative field.
This first meeting covered a lot of topics and, beyond the usual organisational matters to cover, started reflecting on how to bridge the two main aspects of the VOICE project:
- Photovoice Trainings which will involve students in social & youth work from partner countries to teach them about the Photovoice method on the one hand, and gather their own input on how to tweak this tool so that it best fits the needs of social work across the EU;
- Concrete results which will created thanks to input gathered through the Trainings, such as a creative Video-tutorial to promote and give basic tips about Photovoice, an Online Photovoice Exhibition showcasing the results of a Photovoice process and a Photovoice Guide to provide ready-to-use material for interested users as well as robust scientific background.
